“There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.” ~Mahatma Gandhi

Food is one of the basic necessities essential for a living and provides strength to the body contributing to good health which many poor people fail to afford. At times, they are only able to afford food which lacks the basic nutrients, highly essential for their proper healthy growth. This in turn causes malnutrition, especially in growing children leading to death.

According to Global Hunger Index 2018, India has been ranked at the 103rd position among 119 countries. India is among the 45 countries that have “serious levels of hunger”:

  • About 15 percent of India is undernourished, one-third of food gets lost or wasted
  • Women account for 60 percent of India’s hungry population
  • 3,000 children die every day from hunger and around 30 percent of newborns die from lack of nutrition

India’s GDP has significantly increased over the last few decades, so its poverty condition is improving but hunger still remains an issue.

The misplacement of resources and predetermined cultural norms, such as the caste system, have prevented the country from moving forward. The government, on many levels, has been inefficient in improving the issue.

Though the country’s ranking on the Global Hunger Index has decreased in the last two decades and it can improve more given the increase in aid provided by private organizations. We at Live Care Foundation support the government initiatives to eliminate hunger and malnutrition in India. There are million people who die of malnutrition every day and that is an urgent issue which needs to be addressed.

Live Care Foundation works to feed the hungry mouths who are forced to beg for it. We aim to reach every poor and make food available to them. We love to bring smiles and satisfaction to every face by satiating their hunger.

We at Live Care Foundation undertake special care for the malnourished and also provide food with nutrients to the people who can’t afford it.
